Recent news outlets have reported on US Supreme Court Justices accepting luxurious trips and gifts without reporting them – which in turn has increased interest in advancing improved judicial ethics.

This raises a few questions: What are the rules that US Supreme Court Justices are required to follow? How are justices disciplined if they don’t follow the rules? How do rules differ between the differing levels of federal courts? What about state courts and the rules that state court judges need to follow? What can be done if a judge behaves unethically? What are the paths towards reform?
