First Nations have deep roots in democracy. Native American communities across Wisconsin have seen their communities gerrymandered in an attempt to water down their voting power and lessen their political power. Gerrymandered voting maps are drawn in a way that divide communities and favor a certain outcome. This underhanded tactic is at odds with the longstanding democratic traditions of Indigenous peoples.
Register HERE to join on Wednesday, June 16 at 5 p.m. for a conversation with Indigenous and grassroots leaders about how gerrymandering affects Native American communities in the state and what can be done about it.
