Learn about participation in the John Lewis National Day of Action to be held on July 17th - the 4th Anniversary of the passing of our voting rights champion.

Sadly, with the growing assault on the voting rights and human dignity of marginalized communities there is a need for concerted action to protect our Democracy.

Voting Rights Champion, former Congressman John Lewis saw this democracy crisis coming. In the last years of his life he championed two pieces of federal legislation to secure our democracy, the Freedom To Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.

The plan is to work with folks throughout the nation to host events on July 17th which will highlight the urgency of this moment.

At the meeting on May 23, 2024, leaders of the convening organizations, Transformative Justice Coalition, Declaration for American Democracy, Public Citizen, Black Voters Matter and will share more about making July 17th a powerful Day of Action!
